Not only two souls seem to dwell in her chest. At least an impulsive one and a sensitive one. One furious-proud and one naive-defiant all of which come to expression. The Israeli singer performed a sparkling Lieder recital together with the pianist Ekaterina Tarnopolskaja in the full up Café Museum. Shira Karmon has an ability to enchant her audience with pure vocal beauty. The clear soprano flows playfully over the sensitive and dynamic piano playing of Tarnopolskaja - beginnng with the mystic intonation immanent in the chansons through the liveliness like in a Musical, then with all the tragedy in Weill's settings of Brecht's lyrics. The singer unveils all her souls with unbelievable presence and persuasiveness so that sounds seem to become tangible.

Her interpretation of Richard Strauss and Robert Schumann shows a grand vocal culture. In Joaquin Turina's "Poema en Forma de Canciones" the young soprano showed her natural stage presence. While singing, Shira Karmon was completely in her element, playing on the claviature of emotion from audacious to ecstatic bliss of love through to the fear of solitude. The music of the israeli composer Eyal Bat is sometimes voluptuous, sometimes introverted, allowing the singer much space for her evolvement. Shira Karmon made brilliantly use of this space during her marvelous performance at the "Bahnhof Rolandseck". Her enormous power of creation is fascinating and her rich and caressing voice embodies a striking intensity.
